You can't shield me any longer... I already know too much

Sorry Mom.
Sorry Dad.
But I already know what happens... you can't shield me any longer.
You know, whenever the radio or the television brings something up that has to do with the sex, my mom or my dad quickly grab the remote and change the channel or they will tell me to go to another room. Usually I would just shrug that off. After all, I already know what's going to happen. It's kind of annoying though, because my dad will not let me watch Juno just because it has teen pregnancy. Us teenagers and even kids know too much about sex. Sometimes, music is to blame as well. But the thing that puzzles me is why my parents have never even talked about sex or dating with me. Well with dating, my mom just said wait till college. Long ago, I found this book in my dad's office called, "How To Talk To Your Kids About Sex." Slightly shocked, I snatched the book from it's place and I showed it to my sister.(She's 14) We laughed knowing that our parents would never discuss such things with us. But why not? I would like to hear my parent's views but that is never going to happen. I know one thing's for sure though: NO sex till marriage. I've made a commitment to remain a virgin till marriage for my future husband for the sake of my soul.

Good for you. Stay strong. You know, this might be the strongest you'll ever be..and remember that..and remember those values. Cause I remember when I was like that..& then, dang..I met someone..but at least I felt I was older, and at least I had prepaired for the worst. I was ready, I took precautions & it was the emotional stuff I really worked on too..it was like before it ever happen, I was planning what it would be like once our relationship was over.

Best on your blog. & thank you for the feedback.

Yeah, My parents dont shield it from me. I mean, I wasnt allowed to see all the PG-13 movies as soon as I was 13 like some of mt friends. I mean they dont really have huge discussions with me. But they dont shield me.... THats annoying though. I think if you are open with it instead of hiding it, Itll be a less special, curious thing. Like candy for children. If you restrict it, they want it. If you treat it like a normal food, They dont care nearly as much. Smae with our school that Good luck with your parents!

Me and my mom kinda have an open relationship about that kinda thing so I feel ok talking about it with her. I guess I'm kind of lucky.

Yeah, my parents are kinda like that too. That really blows that you can't see Juno tho. Its a really good movie and overall, it sends a decent message, i guess. And good choice on abstinence. I think that is really cool, thats my plan too. BTW I really like your blog, its super unique.

Wow, it's really neat how we share the same values. My family was sort of iffy on letting me watch Juno, as well. Always keep those morals, because it will be worth it in the long run! I really like your other blogs, as well. I will keep in touch :)

Yeah, I wasnt allowed to watch a decent amount of PG-13 movies when I was 13... I had to wait till I was 13 for awhile or until they thought it was suitable for me. Harry potter and stuff like that was okay. But comedies and stuff was mostly a No. Well, I turned out just fine and didnt think it was that bigga deal when it was happening to me. So, I guess no complaints here. :)
Thanks so much for the comment!

Nice morals. ^^ And I agree with them. I have a open relationship with my mom. But yeah, I feel uncomfortable about talking about that stuff with my dad.

I'm for abstinence too. I'm thinking of getting a purity ring sooner or later. Because when I actually have that um, moment occur with a guy. I want it to be memorable.

Thanks for the comment deary. :)

Yeah, I know what you mean. No need for it. *sigh* Why do they shield us if we already know? If we are aware of it, there's no need to make us 'un-aware'. It makes no sense, you can't make us forget. =P You're right, marriage first, that's how I role too. Nice blog/
